Juventus Our Strongest Rivals?

Chelsea having made it to the knock out stage of the Champions League now set their target on finishing top of their group, which isn’t going to be a problem. Our last game is against Premiership title contenders (hahahahahah just being nice to them for a change) Liverpool is at Stamford Bridge.

Now all those teams who finish first in their group play a team who finished 2nd in another group (except for teams from your country.) Juventus are most likely to finish 2nd in their group, hence could be paired up with Chelsea. Barcelona another team who are favorites for Europe's biggest prize along with Chelsea and Juventus, has topped their group, so Chelsea need not worry about them at the moment.

"I think our strongest rivals are Juventus," Lampard told Rai TV. He also identified the summer signing of Patrick Vieira from Arsenal as a crucial move that cemented the Bianconeri's quality. "They were already a great side before, but since Vieira's arrival they have been fantastic."

Lampard however forgot about Adrian Mutu, who was sacked by Chelsea FC a year back for doing drugs. Having completed his ban, Mutu has been playing for Juve and has so far featured in 12 matches totally and has scored 4 goals. Mutu may be out to take some revenge of his own, though I seriously think our defense is way too much for him to handle.

The champions league doesn't get interesting to me until the knockout stages, a lot of decent teams finish second in their group, and there won't be too many easy draws, Barcelona look awesome at the moment, but they did last season too.
